Assembly & Automation

Anchor’s commitment to excellence includes integrating advanced automation technologies into our assembly operations.  These include the extensive use of robots, collaborative robots, proprietary assembly cells, 100% in line measurements, vision systems and Artificial Intelligence.

Using state-of-the-art Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Distributed Control Systems (DCS), our solutions integrate seamlessly into manufacturing processes. These processes include all types of welding including MIG, TIG, Cold Metal Transfer, Laser, Spot, Resistance and Drawn Arc.  Assembly processes also include automated part insertion, conventional and orbital riveting, staking, toggle lock, industrial adhesives, automated tapping, manual component assembly and in-press assembly of studs and nuts.

Flexible Welder Design

Anchor has developed a proprietary weld system that allows for rapid changeover from part to part using multiple welding and assembly guns.  This system allows for reduced capital investments for mid to high volume parts which in turn reduces costs.

Anchor also has developed flexible welding cells for larger parts that use a “sandbox” concept so 4 different parts can be run simultaneously on the same weld cell. This is especially beneficial during start-up phase or when volumes are not high.  The lower capital cost once again reduces the overall cost to our customers.

Precision Machining Capabilities

Anchor has many years of expertise machining mid to high volume parts inside of the assembly cells.  These include very tight tolerance bores that often are measured in microns.  These machining operations occur in the same assembly cell that often does welding and other assembly operations.  All machining operations usually include 100% measurement of critical characteristics to assume total quality.
