Qualifications:
1. Four year technical degree in industrial, mechanical or quality engineering.
2. One to three years’ experience in automotive industry, manufacturing environment, or five to eight years quality engineering experience in automotive, stamping or assembly industries.
3. Knowledge of Geometric Dimensional and Tolerancing (GD&T) and the ability to read and understand automotive drawings is a must.
4. Must be familiar with automotive PPAP, APQP, SPC, PFMEA, inspection gage/tool design and certification techniques.
5. Must be familiar with TS 16949 Quality System requirements.
Responsibilities:
Conduct internal Product and Process audits, implement corrective actions, and maintain the quality standards.
Travel to supplier locations to conduct external Supplier audits, monitor and measure results, maintain database, report performance, issue corrective action requests and follow up on PPAP status until completion.
Implement program for Supplier development, such as control plans, FMEAs, and other documentation.
Participate in APQP process with project team members.
Develop and implement control plans and inspection methods of manufactured parts and assemblies.
Assist production through training and demonstration of applicable quality procedures, and assess process quality checks for over or under inspection.
Develop and implement SPC plans and analyze data for trends and process capabilities.
Interface with customers solving quality issues and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
Ensure that all equipment is safe to operate.
