Qualifications:

  1. BSME with 8-10 years experience in the tooling and stamping ,or Journeyman Tool & Die Maker with 15years of similar experience.
  2. Should possess math and computer skills, good communication skills.
  3. Die design and die build process understanding along with understanding of metalforming and stamping are a must.
  4. Understanding of a die estimating process is a plus.

Responsibilities:

  • Functions of this role include;  design, build, successful tryout, PPAP submissions (ISIR), process implementation, continuous improvement, and optimization of all tooling within the business unit assigned.
  • Provide  support to Project Engineers in follow up with the new tools, scheduling deliveries, new material, tool buy-off, certification, productivity improvement and all associated designs and equipment.
  • Along with the CAD / CAM Administrator Tooling Engineering Group is responsible for internal Print and CAD Data control.
  • Tooling Engineering Group is responsible for implementing engineering changes, monitoring tooling aspects of the new programs – tooling, checking fixtures, special machines, engineering changes, pilot builds, prototypes. Progress reports have to be provided for all new items being build.
  • Participate as a member of PDT and APQP Teams.
  • Issue Purchase Orders to Suppliers when necessary.
  • Assure projects are constructed within budget and processes are implemented as quoted.
