PMA News Release- March 26,2003 Anchor Tool & Die Wins Process Control Award PMA News Release-March 26, 2003 Anchor Tool & Die Wins Safety Award 2002 Signature Technologies Process Control Award
On December 18, 2001 the Precision Metalforming Association (PMA) announced that Anchor won the 2002 Signature Technologies Process Control Award. The Award recognizes a PMA member company for innovative application of electronic process controls resulting in significant cost reduction, quality, and productivity improvements. For the innovative design of an automated welder that assemble instrument panel reinforcement assembly utilizing over 100 fiber optics and proximity sensors and secondary weld monitors; thus, eliminating customer rejected parts. The application consisted of a written submission explaining the use and effectiveness of the automated spot welder that is part of the Saturn assembly cell located in MA#1. Included was a description of the quality and productivity improvements made since the system was implemented. A cost – benefit analysis and pictures of the equipment were included in the presentation.
2001 A. R. Hedberg Training & Education Award Anchor Tool & Die has been awarded the A. R. Hedberg Training & Education Award. The award recognizes outstanding dedication and commitment to the principles of effective employee technical education thru a comprehensive training program, as espoused by the late A.R Hedberg, founder of HPL Corporation.
2001 Awards of Excellence in Metal forming The Higgins Design Award, presented by the Precision Metalforming Association. The award recognizes the improved design for the pressurized air dryer chamber for removal of moisture in air brake systems
